After Phryne

Ink, pencil, gesso
2016

An ongoing project in which the story of Phryne is examined in the context of the relationship between today’s woman and her body. Phryne was spared the death penalty for impiety when her breasts were bared to the judges and they could not find her guilty in the face of the evidence of her relationship to Aphrodite herself.
